Monday:

As a Manager Assembly Engineer, your first task is to create a new workspace for your team in KanBo. You easily do this by going to the Workspaces tab and hitting the “+” button to create a new one. You title it “Assembly Line Project” and invite all the necessary team members including your colleagues from Design, Quality and Maintenance departments. You start drafting the project plan and assign tasks to team members with deadlines in the Cards.

Tuesday:

As you come back from the meeting with the production department, you realize that a crucial part of the assembly line is missing. You quickly create a Card for this issue, assign the task to the Design department, set the deadline for the end of next week, and add a Blocker stating that production can’t move forward until this issue is resolved. You notify the team members concerned and keep track of progress using comments and the Activity Stream.

Wednesday:

You receive feedback from the Quality department on the first prototype produced on the assembly line. There are quality issues that need to be addressed. You create a new Card for this issue and assign the task to the Maintenance department with a deadline for the end of the week. You attach the relevant documents, and make checklists for the tasks. You also schedule a meeting with the Quality department to ensure that all issues are being addressed.

Thursday:

You receive updated CAD designs from the Design department. You create a new version of the document in KanBo with all necessary details and highlight all relevant changes using Versioning. You attach the updated designs to the Card and notify all team members involved. You use the Timeline view to observe the progress of the tasks.

Friday:

As the week comes to an end, you want to review the progress of the Assembly Line Project. You create a Dashboard to visualize all the cards, card statuses and blockers across all departments. You use the data to analyze where each team member stands and what remains to be completed. You schedule a meeting with all team members to ensure that the project is on track and share the Dashboard with them for the meeting. All members can contribute their information to the real-time Board Chat, which was initiated earlier in the week, and discuss pressing issues with ease and collaboration.
